Peter Sjölander looks to accelerate the reset of Superdry

Superdry has announced the appointment of Peter Sjölander as Chairman.

From to , Sjölander was CEO at Helly Hansen.

Most recently, he has held a number of senior advisory and non-executive roles, including working with private equity funds where he has advised a number of brands and digital consumer businesses within their portfolios, overseeing their growth and technology implementations. 

Earlier in his career, he spent 13 years at Nike in a number of leadership roles across marketing, product and general management, working in the Nordics, Netherlands and USA. 

Sjölander will join the Superdry Board as an independent non-executive director on 29th April and on the same date Peter Williams will step down as Chairman and from the Board.

Peter has had a hugely successful executive career across public company, private equity and founder-led environments. From to Peter was CEO of Helly Hansen where he delivered a step change in the performance of the brand, driving its transition from being a business focused on its local Scandinavian markets to a globally recognised brand. Digital transformation was core to Peter&#;s leadership of Helly Hansen.

Most recently Peter has held a number of senior advisory and non-executive roles, including working with leading private equity funds where he has advised a number of brands and digital consumer businesses within their portfolios, overseeing their growth and successful technology implementations.

Fashion brand Superdry has appointed Peter Sjölander as an independent non-executive director and chair of the board.

He will take over this week from current chair Peter Williams, who is stepping down from the board.

Sjölander is a former CEO of outdoor clothing company Helly Hansen, and previously spent 13 years at Nike in a number of leadership roles across marketing, product and general management. He has held a number of senior advisory and non-executive roles, and is currently a non-executive director of Dometic Group and Fiskars Oyj.
